PrakarsaWarga.Com – The running trend in Indonesia continues to experience rapid growth. Now, running events are no longer simply a means of exercising or chasing best times, but have also evolved into gathering spaces that combine a healthy lifestyle, entertainment, and economic opportunities for MSMEs.
This phenomenon is evident in the increasing number of running events packaged as festivals. In addition to competitions, organizers also complement the events with culinary bazaars, musical performances, and community activities, attracting thousands of visitors.
For many runners, participating in a running event isn’t just about reaching the finish line. It’s also an opportunity to expand your network, meet new communities, and enjoy a more comprehensive experience.
Carrying the concept of “More Than a Race” , Crystalin RunXperience will be held again in 2026 in two major cities, namely Surabaya on July 19 and Jakarta on October 4. After being successfully held for two consecutive years in Jakarta, this year Crystalin is expanding its event reach to the city of Surabaya.
Surabaya was chosen for a reason. East Java’s largest city is known for its thriving running community and its increasingly active presence in various sporting events. This makes Surabaya a strategic location for providing a more inclusive running experience for the community.
Crystalin RunXperience not only features a running competition, but also invites participants to enjoy a variety of entertainment. The event features an MSME Culinary Festival, taking place in the courtyard of Surabaya City Hall on July 17–19, 2026. The festival serves as a promotional platform for local businesses and introduces Surabaya’s diverse culinary offerings to the wider community.
The race series consists of three categories, namely Fun Run 2.5K , 5K , and 10K , so that it can be participated by various groups, from beginners to experienced runners.
The festival atmosphere was also made even more lively by the appearance of a number of musicians and entertainers such as Lala Widy , DJ Fake Dopp , and Mr. Jono Joni who presented local-style entertainment.
Director and COO of OT GROUP, Donny, hopes that Crystalin RunXperience can become a space that unites sports, entertainment, community, and MSME empowerment in one experience that provides benefits to the community.
Through a more comprehensive concept, running events such as Crystalin RunXperience demonstrate that sport has now become part of a modern lifestyle that not only improves physical health but is also able to drive the creative economy and strengthen relationships between communities.
