Plt Sesjen MPR Ajak Pegawai Terapkan Hidup Sederhana dan Jujur Demi Perkuat Budaya Antikorupsi

PrakarsaWarga.Com – Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI, *Siti Fauziah*, invited all employees within the MPR RI Secretariat General to make simplicity and honesty the main foundations in building an anti-corruption culture and strengthening integrity in the work environment.

This message was delivered when opening a socialization activity entitled *”From Legal Awareness Towards an Anti-Corruption Culture”* held by the Inspectorate of the Secretariat General of the MPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Tuesday (21/7/2026).

This activity is part of the MPR RI Secretariat General’s commitment to strengthening the culture of integrity while increasing the awareness of all officials regarding the importance of early corruption prevention.

In her remarks, Siti Fauziah emphasized that corruption doesn’t always start with major actions. She argued that small, deviant habits, if left unchecked, can develop into behavior that harms both the organization and the country.

He also highlighted Indonesia’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI), which remains at 34, ranking 109th out of 180 countries. This is seen as a reminder that efforts to eradicate corruption must begin with a change in the attitudes of each individual.

Siti Fauziah invited all employees to instill the values of a simple life so that they would not be easily tempted to seek profit through methods that violate the rules.

According to him, someone who is able to live according to their needs will find it easier to maintain integrity and avoid deviant behavior.

Furthermore, he emphasized that honesty is an inseparable value from the professionalism of state officials. Honesty, he said, is not just about telling the truth, but also about adhering to regulations, upholding trust, and carrying out duties responsibly.

He reminded that dishonest behavior not only harms oneself, but can also tarnish the good name of the family and the institution, and reduce public trust in state institutions.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of the Secretariat of the MPR RI, *Anies Mayangsari Muninggar*, said that corruption remains a serious challenge that can affect the quality of public services, organizational effectiveness, and the level of public trust in the government.

Therefore, according to him, preventing corruption is not enough only through supervision and regulation, but must also be built through a work culture that upholds integrity, accountability, transparency, and professionalism.

Anies explained that various corruption cases involving public officials provide a lesson that the risk of irregularities can occur in various sectors if internal controls are not strengthened.

Through this outreach, the Secretariat General of the MPR RI hopes that all employees will increasingly understand the importance of building an anti-corruption culture in every work process and decision-making process.

The workshop featured two speakers: senior journalist Usman Kansong and constitutional law expert Feri Amsari, moderated by tvOne journalist Ricki Satria Vargaz. The two speakers are expected to provide legal perspectives and public communication on the importance of building an anti-corruption culture within government.

At the end of the activity, Anies expressed his appreciation to all leaders, speakers, committee members, and participants who had supported the implementation of the activity as part of his commitment to strengthening clean, transparent, and integrated governance.
